Well...I had to go back and completely rewrite the first couple paragraphs of this post...
Despite yesterday's setback with my first Amazon product, July was a pretty incredible month. I photographed four amazing couples weddings, got to see my product in person for the first time, and I feel like I continued to grow throughout the month.
In July I was focused on launching my Amazon product, and developing my other two products I have planned. In August, my focus will be on growing sales and diversifying my income. No matter what happens with Amazon, I will continue to push forward and find ways to sell through my inventory.
Personally, I've never felt more confident and capable. My priorities in life are changing, and I'm more focused on making progress than ever before. I rarely ever feel anxious anymore about anything, and it feels incredible. I think I contribute this to teaching myself how to be a better planner. In the past, I would do almost everything on a whim, and it didn't work out for me a majority of the time. For example, blogging. I never had a blogging schedule to hold myself accountable. Whenever I felt like writing, I did. But by doing it that I way I had no structure and no consistency. By integrating a blog schedule into my weekly routine, I'm confident that I'll be able to keep writing posts consistently without feeling overwhelmed.
In August, I also want to focus on fitness. The only thing that is bugging the shit out of my right now is how I'm not in the same shape I was during this time last year. Granted I was running a ridiculous amount of miles per month, but since then I've gained 25 pounds and it doesn't feel good. I no longer fit into the same clothes I did last year, and it's quite frustrating.
In the second half of July, I started hitting the gym again. I could run all the time, but if I'm not lifting my body doesn't feel solid. Lifting also greatly helps with my running. I've decided that I am going to run the Akron Half Marathon, and shoot for running my first full sometime in November. In the meantime, I'm going to focus on following a running plan, dropping my weight to 170-175lbs (down from 200lbs), and slowing down my pace to avoid injury.
I undestand that I don't look bad at 200 lbs, but the problem is, it doesn't feel good to carry all that weight around while I'm running 7+ miles at a time. Last June, when I was down to 173 pounds I felt absolutely amazing. I was full of enegy, and felt like I was in the absolute best shape of my life. Weight loss for me has more to do with feeling good than it does looking good. I'll be periodically sharing my progress on here, so be sure to check back in for updates!
I have a lot to tackle this month, but I'm extremely excited about where things are headed! I plan on blogging 2-3 times per week, so if it's a few days and you haven't heard from me....call me out! Till the next post, here is a list of my August goals!
