I get asked quite a lot why I post so much about my business plans, goals, and dreams. It’s a fair question. Most people are a little more private with their intentions than I am, so I can understand why it can be perceive it as weird.
There’s nothing wrong with either approach. However, I have found that sharing my dreams with the world has actually helped me reach my goals, and have opened opportunities that help me get one step closer to reaching them.
I understand how sharing some insight into your life can be a difficult thing to do. No one enjoys feeling vulnerable. Especially when you're making it public for the entire world to see!
But I ask you this; What's the worst that can come from it? Yes, I've had people criticize me for sharing certain things, but that's their problem and not mine. I see many more positives with sharing your dreams then I do the negatives.
It's been almost a year since I publicly shared my goal to make $1 Million dollars in 2018. Was it a crazy goal? Yes. Did people think I was crazy? Yes. Did they let me know that directly? Hell yes.
But if there's one thing I learned in 2018, it's that you should go for what you want. Don't let anyone's criticism get in the way of you living your life.
There will be few who criticize, but there will be plenty who support you. You'll be surprised just how many people either share the same dream or straight up support yours. After I shared my crazy goal of $1 Million in a year, I had numerous people contact me with nothing but supportive messages.
Many of them sent me articles, book recommendations, and even shared what they were doing to increase their income. It showed me that there are plenty of people out there willing to help.
If you feel like you don't have many people in your life that are supportive, you can always seek support elsewhere. I recommend finding a community that is built around what you whatever topic your goal/dream is. For example, if you want to finish a marathon, go out and find a running group either online or in person. If you want to hit a business goal, get involved with business networking. There are so many ways to find communities for what you're looking for.
So next time you dream up something big, don't be afraid to throw it out into the universe for everyone to see. I guarantee you'll be surprised by how many people support what you do. If you get criticized by anyone...forget them. They aren't your people, and you don't need that negativity holding you back.
So what is it you want in life? What are some goals you have?
I'd love to know, so please share them with me in the comments below!
